Μικρομερια η νευρώδης
Etymology of Micromeria nervosa: The name of the genus is derived from the Ancient Greek words "μικρός" [mikros], meaning "small," and "μερίς" [meris], meaning "portion," referring to the several small portions of leaves and flowers concentrated together amid spaces on a stem. "Nervosa" is Latin and means "nervous", for the nerves/veins on the calyxes.
There are five Micromeria kinds (species and subspecies) in the Cypriot habitat.
Micromeria nervosa is a popular plant in Cyprus, it grows a lot on roadsides all-around the island up to an altitude of 600 metres. Its flowering period is in March and April.
