What we know about education during the Frankish rule

During the reign of Hugo IV (1323-1359), according to Mas Latrie (19th cent.), a foreign visitor of Cyprus witnessed schools, where Latin, Greek, French, Italian, Arabic and Turkish was taught. Also, in the largest towns of Cyprus there were science schools and in Nicosia a lyceum or institute [Athanasios Sakellarios, 1890].
