Campanula peregrina
Καμπανούλα η ξενική
“Campanula” in Greek means “little bell” and “peregrina” in Latin means “foreign”. There are six Campanula species in Cyprus, peregrina is the tallest one reaching up to 80 centimetres tall, the others are considerably shorter. Its inflorescence is narrow and spiciform. It is encountered at an altitude of up to 1375 metres, and it prefers areas where there is running water such as streams. It is mostly found in the Troodos region and it is quite an uncommon plant.
