Etymology of Anthemis tricolor: Named "Anthemis" after the ancient Greeks and Romans. Latin "tricolor" means "three-colored".

There are at least 10 Anthemis species and subspecies in the wild Cypriot habitat.

Anthemis tricolor is very easy to distinguish from the rest of the Anthemis species. Anthemis tricolor is encountered all around Cyprus at low and medium altitudes, on dry, stony and rocky ground, up to 825 metres. It blooms from February until May.
